I really enjoyed the class! Probably one of the reasons would be that I did preview the assigned article carefully and found it quite informative about the use of dictionaries. The content of the article is comprehensive, with many useful examples.
As an English major for almost 7 years, I do have to admit that I know too little about these helpful silent teachers and haven't make the most of them as a tool of language learning. For the most of time, I rely on the English-Chinese dictionaries to rapidly get to know the meaning of the words instead of studying carefully for the word usage.
I have tried out several online dictionaries introduced in the class and Oxford Advanced Learner's Dictionary is obvious one of my favorites. It has detailed explanations, useful grammar usages, and related idioms.
Hope I'll continuously enjoy my English learning journey with these patient silent teachers.
